Activities
In DPS, It is imperative that apart from the academic activities, every student should participate in one or the other intra co curricular activity. DPS has sponsored different activities in the school each of which is manned by an expert or a team of expert in the activity assigned to different classes. These activities help in identifying and developing the talent, skill and intelligences of the students who avail them.
Activities conduct in our school is:
Story Writing & Debate Competition, Inter house Competition, Fancy Dress Competition, Flower and Food Competition, School Magazine Editor , Cleanliness Week , School Council Activity and other activities that generate talent in children.
Music & Dance
DPS encourages students to explore the extent of musical talent and Expert Dance form available in them and provides the resources required to develop that talent.
At DPS, Music is an art form through which the act of expressing enhances emotions, the intellect and imagination. Music & Dance have proven to enhance the creativity of the students and boosts essential values.
Our students are trained in both classical and westerns skills. We have expert musician and dance teachers in our team who offer personalised attention to all students. These skills have helped them participate in various Inter-School and Inter-House cultural events and win numerous laurels.
National Cadet Corps
The training of the NCC is primarily focused on character building, inculcating leadership qualities and skill enhancement through structured practical training and opportunity for exposure/interaction beyond a cadets’ immediate environment, and thereby enabling them for a brighter and progressive future.
The Aims of NCC:
(a) To develop character, comradeship, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and the ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
(b) To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life and always available for the service of the nation.
(c) To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.
Delhi Public school provides you such a platform in NCC where you develop a sense of Unity, Discipline and dedication to the country.
Scout & Guide
Scouting and Guiding is an approved type of character training & preparation for good citizenship designed for the benefit of boys and girls, which insists a sense of responsibility and trustworthiness affords to be individual opportunities for developing initiative and leadership and promotes self-control, self-reliance and self direction.
The Aim of Scouting and Guiding is four-fold. The first is the formation of character; the second is the formation of sound health habits. The third is the training in the handicraft and the acquiring of useful skills; and the fourth is the cultivation of a proper spirit of service efficiently. The pursuit of this aim leads to the development of good citizenship, among boys and girls.
Excursion
An annual excursion is organized for students for every academic session. Further, the school organizes planned visits to various places to enrich the students and to take learning beyond the four walls of the classroom.
Travel expands your horizons and school life cannot be complete without the fun of educational tours and excursions. These trips are tailor made to facilitate the students to know and understand the real, multicultural world. A host of activities are undertaken as a part of trips which act as a catalyst to think out of the box and broaden the outlook. The school discreetly organizes educational trips to strategically and historically important places and facilitates for students to reach out for information beyond the text books.
These trips are meticulously planned to add fun and enthusiasm during vacation period. These trips also extend a much needed break from the hectic daily schedule and an opportunity for the facilitators and learners to bond with each other
